MythLords: Classic Monsters

Hi, Mythlorders,

I hope everyone had fun celebrating Father's Day this weekend. We just wanted to do a quick update since things are moving along to the point of manufacturing.

We originally did our files in Photoshop, but then met with a publisher at Gen Con who might be helping us with expansions in the future. He suggested we redo the files in InDesign to prepare them for easy language changes. 

We are currently in the process of doing this very thing. The new versions of the cards created in Indesign are almost complete. Once done, we would like to send a PDF out to our backers to check them for typos before they are sent to the manufacturer. the more eyes, the better as far we are concerned. If so, please do not share the pdf with anyone.

Let us know if you are open to taking a quick gander at the cards to ensure they are perfect before sending them off to the printer.

Hi Mythlords!

We’re thrilled to share that Mythlords: Classic Monsters is one big step closer to your game tables! 🎉 Right now, we’re finalizing the production files and getting everything ready to head to our manufacturing partner in China. Seeing the game come to life is beyond exciting, and we can’t wait for you to experience it.

Sorry for not getting this out last month, but Frank has been on two films back-to-back and is just getting back to some sense of normalcy after working 13-hour days. 

We wanted to be transparent about one important factor we’re watching closely: tariffs. Currently, tariffs are sitting higher than usual at 30%, which has the entire industry worried about our common future. Moving forward with immediate production would add thousands of dollars in extra costs—money that would be tough to absorb.
 

With that being said, tariffs may potentially drop to 10% in the next few months, which would make a huge difference. We’re staying in close contact with our logistics partners and keeping a sharp eye on the situation. If it doesn't, we will figure it out at that time. Rest assured, if there are no other choices Mark and I will absorb the costs if it comes to that. 

In the meantime, we’re using this window to double-check every detail and make sure Mythlords: Classic Monsters is the best it can be. Your support and patience mean the world to us, and we’re incredibly grateful for your understanding as we navigate these final steps.

We are also speaking to a mainline publisher that may team with us to create future expansions for the game. 

We’ll continue to keep you updated as we move closer to production. The monsters are coming!

HI, Mythlorders,

I hope everyone had a great holiday and an awesome New Year.  If you are in and around the LA fires, my heart and prayers go out to you. To follow up on my update from last month, there were some difficulties in setting up the pledge manager, but we did get our approval last night. Sorry for the delay.

Some of you may have already gotten your surveys as we recently sent out a "Smoke Test." Everyone else will be receiving their pledge within the next 48 hours.  The files are currently being prepped for the manufacturer and will be sent within the next couple of weeks. Everything is moving ahead at full speed. I have retested the solo mode several times and have made the AI a bit harder.

Mark and I are also working on a cooperative campaign mode for the game and I'm pretty excited about it. It will star Abbot and Costello (though we won't be able to actually call them that.)

Some of you have informed me that I'm not communicating. In that case, I have to assume that many of you are not being alerted to the updates. Let me know how I can correct this (if you actually see this update.)

In the meantime, I will be doing a live stream celebrating the launch of the Green Hornet 90th Anniversary Anthology by Moonstone Books. It will written by Timothy Zahn and Kevin J. Anderson as well as a half-dozen other award-winning writers. Several of them will be on this live stream where the audience can ask questions and listen to their stories about their career and the green-fedora-wearing vigilante and his sidekick, Kato.

We hope everyone is having a great holiday. We just wanted to do a quick update to inform everyone that the pledge manager will be starting shortly. It will be hosted here on Backerkit. We are just waiting for them to verify our business information. We will be running Late Pledge as well and then the pledge manager will launch. So look for that by mid January.

In the meantime, we will be getting the files ready for printing.
